With an integrated gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, barometer, and optical heart rate sensor, goggles give swimmers accurate data without additional devices, typically smart watches or chest straps. When swimming in the pool, they track pace for a defined number of meters, split times, total workout time, and distance swum. They also track the stroke count, stroke rate, and distance per stroke, which helps analyse technique and efficiency of movement in the water. There are also heart rate metrics – the current value and the division into specific zones for easier work with intensity. The user also has an overview of calories burned, which will be appreciated by both performance athletes and those training just for health and fitness. While swimming in open water, the metrics are adjusted for movement outside the pool. The pace tracking to a specific number of meters, total distance swum, training time tracking, heart rate, and corresponding heart rate zones remain unchanged. With integrated GPS combined with a phone or compatible watch (such as a Garmin or Apple Watch), swimmers can keep track of their route and current location. This brings peace of mind in open water and helps with orientation.
